This Las Vegas hotel and spa is about 10 miles from the Vegas strip.  This hotel has LCD TVs in the bathrooms, martini bars, a very nice pool with great fountains, private cabanas and swim up gambling.

This resort has 9 restaurants and a hip nightclub by Cherry Rande Gerber.  This nightclub is the place to go and hangout if you are a young hipster.  Ultra modern and with great views of the mountains this resort is worth visiting.  While there have some dinner, you won’t be disappointed.

This steakhouse located at the Wynn casino is one word “Swanky” maybe that is what the SW stands for.  This steakhouse has great food a great wine list and exceptional views.  Not the most trendy place to be but good service makes up for it.  Go early because this place is usually packed, oh and by the way it is pricey.

The MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas is located at the end of the monorail system on the south side of the Vegas strip.  The Grand is one of the largest hotels in the world with over 5000 rooms.  The MGM Grand is one of those hotels you could stay at the entire time when you are vacationing in Vegas.  You don’t need to leave as they have everything you need including restaurants, gambling, pools and entertainment.  The place is so big that if you go here on vacation you might need a GPS to find your way around.  One of the top spots in Vegas.  Oh yeah and if you fly into the Las Vegas airport then you can just check right there.  The MGM Grand has hotel check in and check out at the airport.  How cool is that, Viva Las Vegas Baby!

 This great resort is located just 30 minutes from the Vegas strip.  Some say it is the best place to vacation in Vegas because of the reasonable prices and its distance from Sin City.  When you are here it is more of a vacation and it shows with their two golf courses, pools, spa, dinning, beach, paddle boats and water front cottages.  The resort recently came under new management so expect some changes as well.

Shanghai Lilly is located at the Manadalay Bay Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip. This restaurant is a little pricey but it is well worth it if you like Chinese food. They offer up Cantonese and Szechuan dishes with the best ingredients and spices. The decor is very nice and the wait staff goes out of their way to serve you. Shanghai Lilly offers private booths if you want a little more privacy. Overall a great place for Chinese food, oh yeah be sure and try the Szechuan Beef!

 This fantastic Mexican restaurant is located at the MGM Grand hotel and casino.  They have very good “authentic” Mexican food (well not as authentic as my wives) but good non the less.  Oh and if tequila is your poison they have over 100 varieties.  Kind of reminds of me being in ole Mexico.

 The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas isn’t located on the strip but instead across the street from the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus.  They have well over 500 rooms so getting a place to stay for the night isn’t that bad unless there is a big activity going on at UNLV.  This rock star paradise is priced just right too.  Each room comes with a giant plasma tv and the rock style feel for under $200 a night.  Good bars and restaurants at this very hip hotel and casino.

 Roxy’s Diner is located at the Stratosphere on the Las Vegas strip.  This throw back from the 50’s is fun for the entire family.  The waiters and waitresses sing and dance so it is very entertaining.  The food isn’t be best but that is ok because you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for it.  This place is worth checking out.

Spago is located inside Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino. This restaurant is made famous by the chef Wolfgang Puck. This place is always packed and the prices are crazy expensive. We have never eaten at Spago but from what we hear it is overrated and past it’s prime. Expect to pay $40+ per plate at this trendy, celebrity hangout.

If you are hung over and want to get out of Vegas for breakfast this is the place to go. Festival Buffet is located at the Fiesta Rancho Hotel in Henderson. This low cost, all you can shove down your throat buffet is a very good stop to fill up on grease and coffee either when you are hungover or on your way into or out of the Vegas strip.

 The Green Valley Ranch is located in Henderson which is just south of the Las Vegas strip.  It is a nice place to get away from the neon and noise of the strip.  They have great restaurants, comfortable beds, shopping a pool and many open areas to enjoy.  If you want a more vacation feel for you trip to Vegas then stay here.  They offer shuttles to the casino’s so it is just a quick trip to the slots.

The Four Seasons in Las Vegas is a rare casino free hotel and resort. This lavish hotel will cater to your every need. With private lobby, newly renovated rooms and eateries that are among the best in Vegas this beauty is one of the top destinations in Vegas. The Four Seasons is located a little bit a way from all the action but don’t worry free shuttle service will get you anywhere you need to go. This gem is definitely a nice stay but beware the price tag reflects that as well. Expect to pay over $300 a night to be pampered by the staff and concierge.

 The Luxor Steakhouse in Vegas located at the Luxor Resort and Casino is a good deal.  This steakhouse has great steaks at an even better price.  If you are looking to get a good steak dinner but don’t want to break the bank, check out this classy and comfortable winner.  To find it just look for the big pyramid and you can’t miss it.

Update: Renovations were done to the Luxor Steakhouse in September 2007.  We haven’t visited since the changes but we heard they did a very nice job.

This Las Vegas mega star hotel and casino pulls them in from all over.  Known for is great pool, convenient location, shopping and dinning this Vegas beauty has it all.  One of our favorites to stay when we visit is has never let us down.  Great service and rooms and when you go be sure to stay in the new Augustus Tower rooms, a little pricey but luxury galore.   This original Sin City delight is one of the hottest places to stay in on the Vegas strip.

This steakhouse is located just east of the Vegas Strip in the Hard Rock Hotel and across from the University of Las Vegas.  This chophouse is one of our most favorite restaurants in town.  Great atmosphere and even better steaks this place servers up a mean martinis.  Prices are decent for a steakhouse in Vegas and the service has been exceptional each time we have visited.

 This is a nice Asian restaurant located on the Vegas Strip.  All the normal Pan-Asian plates with nothing really out of the ordinary.  Nice atmosphere and if you get the right seat you can watch the fountains at the Bellagio.  Food was good but the price was a little high for our liking.  Nothing to go out of your way for but if you are craving Asian give it a try.

 This American grill located just south of the Vegas strip use to be called the Wild Sage Cafe and is in fact under the same ownership.  Clean and modern American fare you will find dishes like mashed potatoes, mac & cheese and good old fashion burgers.  Food was good but the restaurant was nothing special or wow.  Visit if you are south of the strip but no need to go out of your way to visit it.

Firefly is located just one block east of the Vegas strip.  This is a great place to sit and have tapas and pitchers of sangria.  You won’t find any slot machines here and the decor is a little plan but sometimes you need that in Las Vegas.  It is a nice break from the strip and isn’t expensive at all.  Sit on the deck and ask to have their specialty sangria, it will surely help you relax and forget about the hustle of the gambling.

 This nice Italian restaurant located inside Caesar’s Palace Casino in Vegas use to be known as Bertolini’s.  It is a great spot to people watch as it is located just above the Caesar’s shopping mall.  Trevi has good food at a decent price and it’s atmosphere will entertain you.  Watch the sky ceiling change from night to day over and over again.  Nice place to sit and have a glass of wine after loosing some coin at Caesar’s.

This is an excellent place to get sushi just west of the Vegas strip.  Located in the Palms Casino & Hotel it is hip, fun and round.  The dinning area is completely round and very much in tune with what it clientèle likes and expects.  The staff is great and the sushi is some of the best in Vegas.  Stop in and listen to the DJ, who knows you might not want to leave.

Located in southeast Vegas this traditional brick oven, wood-fired pizzeria is the only pizzeria we have seen that boasts the Italian governments seal of approval for pizza pie’s. Crazy we know but it look pretty official. We had the traditional pie with pine nuts and peppered salami and let me tell you it was very, very tasty. A bit out of the way but if you are out driving around checking out the town you must stop in for a slice.

This great West Side Japanese restaurant is located not too far from the main Vegas strip. Sen of Japan has great sushi rolls and other selections that are a fraction of the price of sushi on the strip. This is one of the local favorites and is very convenient to get to. If you like raw fish you should try it out.
